September Magic

Every autumn, it's fascinating to watch the birds flock to our sunflowers. The spiky heads become crispy and brown, seeds begin to drop and birds begin to collect. Just today, Jet noticed three birds of different varieties in our backyard.

We have a tiny crop of pink sunflowers that grew in front of our dining room window. I love it. Tiny birds bounce up and down in the wind, clinging tightly to the stem. We watch in anticipation, waiting for one of them to lose grip. They never do.

Sunflowers, hot tea, open windows, the sound of Jet's school bell in the distance, Ledger playing Legos and the flicker of a candle on the hutch. September's magic never fails to mesmerize.
